Meet Dylan

“I joined Amista right after graduating. Not knowing exactly what the future would hold, I was eager to begin an exciting journey in a role that promised variety and challenge. When I signed my contract to become a consultant, I hoped the job would be dynamic. What I didn’t expect was how much it would push me, teach me, and inspire me.

Thanks to the trust and support I receive at Amista, I can continuously stretch my capabilities, take on new challenges, and grow professionally as well as personally.”

My Current Project: Leading and Learning

“I’m currently working as a Project Manager and Data Migration Lead at a mobility company. This is my first time in a leading role on a large, multi-country implementation, and I’ve been given the trust and opportunity to make a real impact.

The project environment is fast-paced and high-pressure, with a tight timeline. The scope covers multiple brands and countries, each with specific requirements and local complexities. This makes coordination a key challenge. Aligning stakeholders, setting shared priorities, and maintaining clear communication are all essential to keeping everything moving forward.

I’ve had to quickly learn how the business operates and adapt rapidly. Leading the data migration from strategy and planning to execution and validation has helped me develop stronger leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.”

A Day in My Life at the Client Site

“Every project is unique, and each phase brings new challenges. We’re currently in the go-live phase, moving into hypercare. This requires close monitoring and quick issue resolution to avoid costly downtime.

I start my day around 7 AM at the client site, using the quiet time to review updates and prepare before meetings begin. By 8:30 AM, we hold domain-specific stand-ups to prioritize urgent issues, followed by meetings with implementation partners to review progress and adjust plans.

In the afternoon, I focus on coordinating with stakeholders across countries. This includes answering questions, reallocating resources, and ensuring everyone stays aligned. I follow up with a written summary to avoid confusion.

At the end of the day, I align with the internal project team and prepare updates for senior management. These cover progress, risks, open issues, and the actions we are taking.”

Strong communication is essential. It reinforces collaboration and keeps everyone focused on the same objectives, especially when the pressure is on and timelines are tight.

Overcoming Challenges: Earning Trust and Leading Through Complexity

“One of the biggest challenges I faced early on was my age. Taking on such responsibilities so early in my career was difficult, not only from a technical standpoint but also mentally. People sometimes questioned whether I had the experience to handle the role.

I had to prove that I was up to the task. I needed to earn the trust of the customer and our partners, show I could take ownership, make decisions, and lead when it mattered most.

Thankfully, I could rely on my direct lead and experienced colleagues at Amista. Their support, encouragement, and availability for feedback helped me navigate complex situations and grow into the role.

Managing alignment across nine different countries brought additional challenges. There were language differences, cultural dynamics, and unique working styles to consider. Technically, each country had its own legal requirements that had to be respected throughout the project.”

“Consulting isn’t just about delivering solutions. It’s about building relationships, solving real problems, and growing through every challenge. It’s demanding, but that’s exactly what makes it rewarding.”
